You can buy this item by itself, or as an add-on with the RetroConnector Joystick Interface.
This small board adapts the 9-pin Game/Joystick port on the Apple //c to accept 16-pin joysticks designed for the Apple II, II+ or IIe. It will also work on the external 9-pin port of the IIe or IIgs. Though those models both also have internal 16-pin connectors, they are not the most convenient to get to.
There are two versions of the adapter available. The "flat" version is intended for joysticks with a ribbon cable. The "right angle" version works better for joysticks or paddles with a round cable and molded connector, as seen in the photos.
