What is it?

BREAD ESP32-S2 is a compact and breadboard friendly development board which features the Espressif Systems ESP32-S2 Mini Module, a NeoPixel compatible SK6812mini, and tons of pins broken out in an easily breadboard able design. This board is also CircuitPython compatible meaning you can develop your projects faster with python. Additional arduino usage can be accomplished by using the Espressif Arduino board package!

Why did you make it?

This board is the first expansion on the BREAD line of boards from Oak Development Technologies. These boards are a defined format defining specific pinouts for portability between designs. The ESP32-S2 mini module provides the optimal module for getting your project connected to services like Adafruit IO, or running a simple web server.

What makes it special?

The BREAD ESP32-S2 takes an old fashion approach to this design, keeping in mind bread board friendliness as well as providing modern USB style plugs with the USB Type-C connector.
