There was a time when ThinkGeek sold a little board with a piezo speaker on it that would randomly make noises once in a while. You'd hide it somewhere near your victim and they'd go crazy either wondering what was making the noise or where it was (or both).
This is a very, very small version of the same thing. It's .75" (20mm) square and will run for about six months on a CR1225 coin cell (not included). It will make quarter-second beeps with one of 5 random pitches at random intervals of anywhere from a half hour to an hour.
It's built with an ATTiny9 - one of the smallest microcontrollers available. Most of one side of the board is actually open space where you can glue a magnet or use foam tape (neither are included) to stick it somewhere particularly stealthy.
