The AJAOne is a sensor hub that connects to your WiFI and natively supports 8 digital IO ports that can be used to read dry switches or provide an output to drive a relay. It has pin headers for a UART, SPI, 1-Wire bus and I2C as well as a STEMMA and a STEMMA-QT port. The STEMMA connectors provide the means to interface with devices from Adafruit and SparkFun.

Out of the box it can report the status of, via MQTT:

• 8 Digital IO ports
• Dallas 1-Wire bus for a number of DS18B20 temperature sensors.
• BME/BMP280 Temperature, Humidity and Pressure.
• SSD1306 OLED display. The first lines show the IP Address and name, the other lines can be written to via MQTT.
• BH1750 light sensor.
• MFRC522 RFID Card reader. The card UID is send via MQTT. Node-Red could then decide to open a door or not . .

Using the AJAOne and Node-Red along with products like Home Assistant it becomes very easy to see the status of doors, windows, temperature, Humidity, Presser and light all over your house.

Additional functionality or enhancements can easily be added via the Arduino IDE with the ESP32 added to the board manager.

Some use cases:

• Send an alert if a temperature is too low or too high
• Monitor temperatures from all around the house and outside.
• Open a door if an RFID card is read
• Turn lights on or off based on ambient light via a relay attached to a digital port.
• Send an alert if a door or window is opened.
• Open a garage door via your home automation panel.

By using Node-Red and some home automation products you are only limited by your imagination for what this board can do for you. Use one, two or more to cover your monitoring / automation needs.
