For research experiments and reading sensors, sometimes a high-precision differential ADC and amplifier is needed. A differential ADC measures the difference between two voltages rather than the voltage above a common ground – measuring differentially helps eliminate two of the most common sources of voltage measurement error: common-mode noise and voltage drop due to current-carrying conductors. The neoPLC ADC-P board provides two differential ADCs (four single-ended ADCs) that can read at up to 860 samples per second. A built-in Programmable Gain Amplifier (PGA) allows the ADC-P to read voltages from small signal sensors (+/- 256 mV) or analog-output ICs and potentiometers (as high as +/-6.1V) with 16-bit precision. This board is a great solution for instrumentation of many analog-output sensors like pressure transducers and more.
