What is it?

The M5Dial is a great IOT device from M5Stack. This is a case / stand for the M5Dial with a nice wooden finish.

Why did you make it?

The M5Dial has the problem that it's not able to be used on its own (it cannot stand), it requires a mounting plate or a case. I use this as a device / controller in my HomeAssistant setup. Also, I wanted to have the M5Dial to be usable independent from other devices / power sources.

What makes it special?

There is an integrated battery pack inside to power the M5Dial. Also, I designed a mount for the LX-LCBST power board --> Power supply for a Lipo battery pack, charging by USB-C, + boost for the output voltage. The M5Dial can be used in a wide voltage range when powered by the power input pins. It has openings to fit the plugs for A an B GPIOs of the M5Dial, also there is a recess in the lid for a USB-C cable to directly connect to the device for flashing.

What´s included?

I only make the case and the wooden lid, the battery or M5Dial is not included. On request I will attach the LX-BST charge controller since the mounting plate inside is especially designed for this one.
