It's taken a while, but the USB 3.0 NanoHub has finally been updated to properly live up to its name. The hub has shrunken from 20x20 to 20x15mm (-25%) and you now have the option to buy it with or without connectors - so if you don't need the connectors, you save $5!
Are you familiar with my NanoHubs? Tiny, penny-sized USB hubs you can use to add additional USB ports in incredibly cramped spaces, like hacking projects or mobile devices? Whereas the original NanoHubs were all USB 2.0, limited to 480Mbps, this new NanoHub allows for transfer speeds of up to 5.0Gbps, as well as up to 3.0A of power delivery. The cut-off connector boards allow you to test your application before soldering it into your product, reducing the size of the hub from 30x22mm (about 1.1x1.3") to 20x15mm, with an overall thickness of just 1.55mm (1/16").
This is an extension of the NanoHub product series. There is also a 4-port USB 2.0 version here and a 2-port USB 2.0 version here. If you don't need the speed of the USB 3.0 version, those might be cheaper options for you!

Hey there! Like most people on this website I make electronics. In fact, I design a *lot* of electronics, over 100 designs per year. Most of them I make for me or for customers. Sometimes, I find a design so handy that I like to share it with others. For that, there is my Tindie store. My name is mux by the way, and I don't just make electronics, I make muxtronics!
As for more of my background: I am an electronic design engineer by trade and mostly design power electronics - that is: dc/dc converters, AC power supplies, power measurement equipment, electronic loads and the like. Aside from that I have a fairly broad engineering education and background, which means I like to do systems design, design for manufacturing, build enclosures using a variety of methods and so on.
I also blog and vlog, so check me out on my website: https://muxtronics.nl
