WiFi controlled high power tolerance & super low insertion loss RF switch. Connection state is controlled by any WiFi capable devices running web browser (smartphone, Mac, PC..). You may think why so expensive? It is simply due to the professional grade RF SPDT switch.
Two months before, I started an amateur radio station operating on HF. For that operation, I need good antenna (really power radiating antenna). Ideally, if I have just one antenna which can operate any amateur band frequency with high efficiently, but in the real life, each antenna has a specific operation frequency and beam pattern. My transceiver has two antenna terminal but already I have three type of antennas, requiring antenna switching. In addition, each antenna needs feeding line and simply solution is three coaxial to my room, but it is NOT smart at all. (too much cables in attic..) IF I insert RF high power SPDT near two antenna, then I can reduce one feeding line, BUT every time I change the operation frequency, I have to climb up attic!! That's nightmare!
As a solution for it, if the SPDT can be controlled WiFi, I don't need to climb up attic but just access by PC or smartphone is enough to switch! So I made this item, "WiFi controlled high power tolerance&super low insertion loss RF switch!"
(In fact, I've searched items working like this on the net. If some one sells similar product, I would simply buy that one, but I could not find at all, why!?)
This item includes CX-210A coaxial switch, ESP32 with servo unit, and 100-240 V AC/DC 5V adaptor (everything needed for the switch operation).
RF switch part is commercial product (CX-210A) by diamond in Japan. We (also me) can believe its super performance of max power 1.5 kW, insertion loss less than 0.05 dB, and isolation is more than 70 dB from DC to 200 MHz. (Please google search for more detailed information, by keyword "CX-210A coaxial switch".
WiFi part is popular ESP32 DEV board. Servo motor has a metal gear for high reliability.
AC/DC adaptor operates worldwide from 100 to 240 V AC.
It's super easy. Bottom of the switch I put SSID and password for accessing switch. By SSID/password,,,
(step 1) Connect AC/DC and apply 5V to the unit.
(step 2) Please find access point named "ANT_SW-WiFi" by smartphone or anything WiFi capable devices.
(step 3) Please input password. Each unique password is indicated at the bottom of switch.
(step 4) Please access "18.104.22.168" by web browser, then you will see...
That's all! Pushing ANT #1 and ANT #2 button will change the connection. Once the switch is set, it will keep its connection state until servo unit power is off (power on reset is ANT #1 connection), no need to continuous access to switch. Actual operation is presented in the movie below!
Caution before ordering
I don't have kW system and does not confirm super high power operation. Such a high power operation may have interfere through DC line. In order to avoid interface, you may need to add ferrite core for 5V DC line.
This unit is not waterproof. For outdoor usage (or high humidity area), please make waterproof.
Controlling distance depends on WiFi (2.4 GHz) reaching area. If out-of-control (the case you cannot see the page of switch control.), please consider to reduce distance between switch and control point.
This item uses PL-259 connector for RF connection, and I guess no one will use 2.4 GHz amateur band, but 2.4 GHz amateur band will have interfere with ESP32 802.11g WiFi.
