Quick and useful frequency measurement adaptor for ADALM2000 by Analog Devices
ADALM2000 is a useful and capable measurement tool controlled through USB and "Scopy" software. ADALM2000 has an embedded digital oscilloscope, arbitral wave generator and through the combination of them, we can measure frequency response (amplitude and phase) of DUT through Scopy. This frequency measurement function is rarely implemented in "under $200 USB scope", however, its interface is totally unfriendly, because it has just 30 pin pin-header. Each of pin are assigned certain function, such as Ch1 oscilloscope input and arbitral wave generator output, and once cables are disconnected, each time we have to check its pin assign. Moreover, most signal transmission is measured by coaxial cable and we definitely need some stable connector for it. As a solution for these issues, tiny board specified for amplitude/phase measurement by ADALM2000 was designed.
Two fixed BNC connectors and ADALM2000 embedded voltage source terminal are prepared on this board. We can start measurement quickly; just plug-in this board to ADALM2000.
On-board connection is specified for amplitude/phase measurement. We don't need to solve a puzzle to find its pin assign and connection for frequency response measurement. Just plug-in and get started!
Relevant hackaday project is released. Details are presented to use this board.
