Several issue related to latest esp-idf is fixed and new functions are merged from n24bass's code. Please try new code!!!
ESP32 developing board especially focusing on audio application development. ESP32 module, TI I2S DAC (PCM5102A), Silicon Labs. CP2102 (FTDI:FT231XS REV.1), OLED display (1.3inch SH1106), Lipo charger are arranged just in small board.
ESP32 is a powerful MCU not limited to WiFi application. This board is suitable for developing Audio application for example WiFi web radio. As a quick application, I've already implemented test code for web radio and its code is uploaded to GitHub.. It's quite pleasant to listen very clear sound (by the sake of TI's sophisticated I2S DAC)!
Now this board can also work as bluetooth speaker. The code is same above but just we need "menuconfig" to activate/deactivate(original WiFi mode) bluetooth function.
Also now web radio station switch is implemented by n24bass. The code is merged to
,where station switch is GPIO16, which has on-board tact switch of ESP32-ADB.
Everything you will need to develop Audio application is all in one board, including
ESP-WROOM-32 (of course)
binary upload and serial terminal through USB (REV.1:FTDI FT231XS, REV.2:Silicon Labs. CP2102)
Quite clear and big (1.3 inch) OLED display
LiPo charging circuit, which is indispensable for portable application
REV.2 only: Lipo charger enable/disable jumper for continuous USB power operation without LiPo.
We can develop WiFi audio and Bluetooth audio application just by this board!!!!
Note for use
(Note for Rev.1, FT231XS version) Please prepare single cell LiPo battery (3.7V), which is NOT included. LiPo is a member for operation, and not optional one. Even not the case of standalone (PC-connected operation), please connect LiPo battery to this board for operation. Any capacity is acceptable but larger one leads to longer standalone operation.
I2S programming requires Official development framework for ESP32., not Arduino IDE. Please prepare your developing environment before use. Quick developing flow is explained in my hackaday project.
