This board is assembled. All of SMD parts, rotary encoder and several jacks (audio/ANT) are fully soldered and Arduino firmware is pre-loaded for shipping. This is a revised and improved version of my previous item! Now it has a on-board USB-UART and USB bus power is supported. Even more new features are included.
Like the previous version, this radio can cover
AM mode: 95 kHz to 32.650MHz (continuous)
FM mode: 53.4 MHz to 134.3 MHz (continuous)
It does not have any inductor nor coil, but such a wide band coverage is realized by one-chip DSP radio controlled through I2C.
Almost two years have passed since the previous version was released. Since then I have noticed several points to be improved. This version includes lots of improvements!
On-board USB-UART (Silicon Labs CP2102N) is prepared
USB bus power and Lipo operation is selectable by on-board jumper.
NEW FM Headphone-antenna (headphone can work as FM antenna, as can be found in commercial radios).
Shortwave external antenna terminal is prepared on the backside by 3.5 mm mono jack.
NEW All new re-designed PCB, which enables more stable and no "whistle like" noise for tuning state at shortwave reception.
Along international parcel regulation, Lipo battery is not included in this item. If you prefer portable operation, please find one in your local reseller.
