This is the PSP1000 (PlayStation Portable) thumb joystick component with 12mm long 24-gauge copper leads and rubberized adhesive backing (3M Scotch-Mount) added to make the joystick easier to use and install into your next project.
It is a 4-pin component that behaves as two 10k potentiometers - one for the vertical axis of the joystick and one for the horizontal axis.
Most breadboard-able joystick modules are overly expensive and too big for smaller breadboards. This component solves both of those problems - allowing you to prototype your game, interact with your device, or generate an analog signal right on your breadboard.
Because it already has leads and adhesive, it's ready to be used in your project without soldering, gluing, or specialized hardware. It works great in both breadboards or with standard female jumper wires.
