Software Update

If you purchased this badge after July 1, 2023, you will have updated software. Mostly everything is the same. The changes were:
MENU: Added functionality to be able to scroll through all menu items, and then it will roll back to the first menu item after the last menu item.
BUTTONS: For the menu, the select button now expects a short or long press to activate two different methods of input. The menu will tell you which method to use depending on which screen you're on.
GAME: A 'shoplifting' video game was added.

What is it?

Unofficial Electronic Badge made for DEF CON 29. Comes with Lanyard! The red circles in the photo indicate that the ATTiny package size will be different than in photo. It will be a SOIC-8 Version instead of the QFN. Also, the 6-pin ISP programming female header is included, but will not be soldered on.

This badge is offered as Fully Assembled or as a DIY Kit. The kit contains surface-mount and through-hole soldering components and is only recommended for people that have surface-mount soldering skills and are able to program the ATTiny85.

Why did you make it?

This is my first electronic DEF CON Badge. I made it to build confidence as well as provide a unique badge for those that attended DEF CON 29
