What is it?

This is a breakout board for the ESP32-C3 WROOM module that has all the pins available broken out into dual row 0.1"/2.54mm pin pitch connectors. It has onboard connectors for I2C (JST SH connector, STEMMA QT and Qwiic compatible) and SPI (JST SH connector, pinout provided). These connectors make it easy to connect to sensors and other modules.

We have an array of development boards from ADC, DAC, and RTC modules that can connect to this board (and others)!

The board includes the transistor circuit for auto-programming via a USB-to-Serial converter BUT it does not include a USB-to-Serial IC. There is a USB-C connector that is connected to the D+ and D- of the ESP32-C3, this can be used for flashing and debugging. 5.1kOhm pull-down on the CC lines are included in the board, so it's configured for USB 2.0 communication.

A large LDO is used to regulate the 3.3V rail. It can supply more than 500mA without overheating. Makes it really useful when connecting a lot of sensors and modules that need to be powered via 3.3V.

Why did you make it?

I needed a development board with all the pins of the ESP32-C3 available. I really needed one row of connections for probing and another for connecting loads and sensors. I didn't find anything readily available for my needs, so I decided to make one.
