You really like that old-fashioned USB-B plug Arduno Uno use? Nobody complain because it is the "official" Arduino, developed 10 years ago.
We do complain when we have to use this heavy connector and cable. Hence we developed an adapter, and you can use a mini-USB flexible cable, e.g. the roll-up model is really great.
We add a very useful function. You never dreamed to disconnect you card and show the nice light show or sensor demo to your friends around the table or at office? The LiPo on the adapter avoid tricky wires.
When the LiPo module is in front of your card, you work as usually and the Lipo is charged or trickle charged. Disconnect the USB and switch on, the Uno card is powered at 3.7V. Is the voltage too low? It may be, but exceptionally as you will see. There are very few sensors that does not work. Even the SR04 and SR05 documented 4.5V usually works fine, according to our tests.
Adding a converter brings a lot of problems. How much current do you need? You seldom worry when connected to USB. You will not worry with a LiPo, its internal resistance is low. You will have problem with DC-DC converter if not dimensionned correctly. Take them too large - cost, size. Too small - sudden voltage drops.
We like to have LiPos always ready to power our Arduino cards. As you, we have many Arduino compatible cards. Several with test programs we never change. Is this sensor good? What is the I2C address of this slave? Connect, power with a Lipo, the test is done.
We of course have similar LiPos for microcontroller card with mini-USB and micro-USB connectors. But we keep the reliable and easy to insert miniUSB on the PC side.
You will get 2 parts, we are sure you have more than one Uno board: one LiPoUno with 250mAh LiPo to move around one simple adapter without Lipo for your PC Of course, you get a mini-USB roll-up cable as a gift.
