Application of the DCDC_3V3_400V module.
The module was designed for use as a power source for one or two Geiger-Muller tubes. The technical characteristics of the module make it possible to use it in other projects. Here are just a few other recipes:
Power supply of retro symbol gas-filled indicators.
Devices for protection against mosquitoes, ozonizers, etc.
Specifications | Minimum | Recommended | Maximum |
---|---|---|---|
Input voltage level | 4,5 Volts | 5 Volts | 5,5 Volts |
Output voltage adjustment range | 200 Volts | 400 Volts | 1200 Volts (at 5 Volts input) |
Current | 10 mA | 18 mA | 20 mA |
Load resistance | 1 MOhm | 10 MOhm | 10 MOhm |
Input connector: VCC, GND or MicroUSB
Output connector: High voltage, GND
Output voltage stability: ±5% at a stabilized input level
Important instructions:
Input voltage is supplied to micro-USB or two pins DCC and GND.
The module is powered through a linear voltage regulator (5 Volts), which ensures the stability of the parameters.
Use a high-impedance voltmeter (10 MΩ) or an oscilloscope to measure the voltage level, when adjusting the high voltage level.
How to measure:
Connect a 10MΩ resistor + 100nF, 1000V capacitor to the module output connectors (high voltage, ground).
Connect the voltmeter probes in parallel with the capacitor.
Turn on the module power supply without disconnecting the probes from the measuring points.
Wait a few minutes for the module to enter the initial mode.
Set the potentiometer to 400 volts.
After that, the module is ready to apply the output voltage to the Geiger tube. Be careful - there is a high voltage on the output connectors!
Do not place other electronic components closer than 1 cm to the output connectors of the module.
Note.
Before you change the potentiometer setting, note that the unit is supplied with the potentiometer tuned to generate an output of 400 volts. Change the settings only if you understand what you are doing.
The DCDC_3V3_400V module can be used to manufacture dosimeters with Geiger-Muller tubes, the supply voltage of which must be from 300 to 1200 Volts. Tubes such as SBM20, LND712, SI3BG, SBM19 are compatible.
In 2021, we began serial assembly and soldering of modules DCDC_3V3_400V using new equipment (see video). Our equipment provides a high assembly speed and guarantees the quality of the module.
