Howie is an isolated I/O system, designed to bring the features and benefits of industrial I/O systems to the Arduino platform.
Howie Output has the following features:
Howie output communicates with the host via the i2c bus, leaving all native Arduino I/O available. Maximum i2c clock frequency is 400 kHz.
Howie ships with stacking headers, which can be soldered into the board to directly mate with Arduino-compatible boards. Boards can also be connected with 4-wire jumper cables for independent panel mounting.
I built the Howie system to bring PLC-style I/O to the Arduino. There was no existing solution to directly connect an Arduino to industrial and automotive sensors and actuators without complex external circuitry.
