This is a conversion of the Teletype module, originally produced by Monome. After several years making Teletype, they took the decision to cease direct production and open-source the hardware. This leads to us being able to create a version for the Tangible Waves mini-modular format!

Telex runs short scripts which are written in a concise coding language. Each script can be triggered via the internal metronome or from an external trigger input. Outputs are 4x trigger/gates and 4x CV. Using the front-facing USB port, you can connect a typing keyboard and write/edit code in realtime, or scripts can be saved for later playback without a keyboard. Scripts are a maximum of six lines which keeps things from getting overwhelming, but it's possible to code all kinds of functions; quantizers, LFOs, complex CV or clock sequences, logic functions etc. Monome refers to it as an algorhythmic ecosystem, if that helps.
DIY-only, as a partial kit. You'll be required to source a few components, notably the OLED display, which is relatively costly (about £35 each) so I can't really justify keeping a bunch of them in stock. I'll let you choose your own colour LEDs (standard 3mm, 4 of one colour and 4 of another) and maybe source the op-amps (2x MCP6004). Other than that the required bits should be included. It's a reasonably simple build: a steady hand, patience and moderate soldering iron skills will get you through no problem.
Price is TBC but it's not a cheap module to design/produce - however i'm trying to keep it reasonably afforable!
