What is it?

Is a tiny SPI adapter that can be used as a HAT "on top" of tinypico ESP32 with the right 26 pin FPC connector for this epaper displays.

Why did you make it?

Because I wanted to have the smallest SPI adapter that can be used without cables flying around and on top of the tinypico ESP32 board designed by Unexpected maker. As the pinup of his TinyPico ESP32 or S3 are compatible this could be used with the version that works best for your requirements

What makes it special?

That with this small PCB adapter you can use modern epaper displays in the minimum possible space to build some special Gadget for your desktop.

What displays it supports?

This flexible epaper displays from PlasticLogic.com are a flexible active-matrix EPD with Ultrachip UC8156 single chip EPD controller, integrated drivers and power management. The technology of this epapers is very modern and they refresh super fast this one taking less than half a second. They also support 3 levels of gray plus white and partial refresh.

Please make sure the epaper has a UC8156 controller since it's the only one supported by this SPI driver. Epaper displays use high voltages to move the Eink particles. Electronic components as capacitors and coils are usually not possible to be added in the tiny displays, hence the SPI adapters expose this on the outside, so the epaper can generate the required voltages.

Please note that the SPI adapter does not include any epaper display, this should be purchased separately in the PlasticLogic.com shop. The ESP32 board is available in tinypico.com Delivery notes: The SPI adapter comes like you can see in the picture with female short pin connections soldered. I can also deliver it without them but in that case I cannot test it before sending. Please send me a short note if you need a different PIN connectors (Male for example or just no connectors soldered)
