🚗 Application #1 — Android Auto + Fast Charging

Many vehicles only support Android Auto through an older USB Type-A port, which normally forces you to choose between Android Auto or fast charging.

With this adapter, you can have both:

• Connect your phone
• Connect your car’s Android Auto USB port
• Connect a USB-C PD charger

When the charger is off, standard 5 V charging is used.

When the charger is on, it automatically switches to PD 2.0 fast charging.

🍏 Application #2 — Apple CarPlay + Fast Charging

Use CarPlay and fast-charge your iPhone at the same time. Compatible with Lightning and USB-C iPhones. Just connect your CarPlay USB port, phone, and a USB-C charger.

Use an MFi-certified Lightning cable for reliable performance.

Note: Some cables advertised as “certified” may not support fast charging.

💻 Application #3 — Offload Power from Weak USB Ports

Older computers often can’t supply enough current for modern USB accessories. This adapter lets you offload power to an external source while maintaining data with your computer.

Example: Some older laptops limit USB Type-A ports to only 100 mA until a device fully enumerates. Backlit keyboards, scanners, and other accessories often draw more than 100 mA as soon as they’re plugged in, which can overload the port and cause it to shut down. This adapter supplies clean external power to your USB device while keeping the data connection to the computer. Your device gets the power it needs and the laptop port stays protected.

Charge Power Management

(Available on units running firmware version 17 or newer.) This device monitors both voltage and current going to your phone and automatically adjusts the charging rate to prevent low-voltage conditions. Long or low-quality cables, adapters, or multiple connectors can introduce resistance and cause the voltage to drop, which may lead to Android Auto or CarPlay disconnects.

We recommend short, high-quality cables (100W/5A rated where possible) to minimize voltage loss. If your phone begins drawing more power than the cable can deliver without sagging, this device will detect the drop and gently reduce the charging rate to keep the data connection stable. Most basic injectors cannot do this.

Note: Most common 3D-printing materials warrant a Prop 65 warning. The standard 3D-printed case includes the following warning:
