This device will combine a USB Type-C power source with a micro USB data source in order to provide both data and power through a single USB Type-C connection.

Application #1 Accelerate Android Auto Fast Charging Lots of cars today come with Android Auto provided through an older USB type-A port. You can connect your phone to your car through the USB port. Many also come with a fast charging USB type-C port. However, often the vehicle will only provide Android Auto through the older slower charging USB type-A port. This forces you to choose between fast charging or AA. With this device you can do both at the same time. For this three ports are provided. One for your phone, one for your car's AA connection and one for your USB type-C fast charger. Once the connections are made you will have both fast charging and a data connection to your car. A status LED is provided to help indicate which connections are present. When Android Auto is connected and your USB-C PD fast charger is off the device will provide AA along with standard 5V charging. When Android Auto is connected and your USB-C PD fast charger is on the device will provide AA along with fast charging provided by the PD fast charger. This changeover happens automatically.

Application #2 Accelerate Apple CarPlay Fast Charging Apple CarPlay will operate in the same manner as Android Auto. The device can be used to combine CarPlay data with a separate power source and provide both to your phone in a single connection. Thus, allowing you to have both CarPlay and fast charging. If you are using an iPhone with a lightning port, as always, a certified Mfi cable is require. Note: some "certified" cables, in fact, do not enable fast charging.

Application #3 Offloading Power If you have an older laptop with USB ports that are not capable of supporting the power requirements of a newer USBC device you can use this adapter. For example, an older computer may only be able to provide 100mA on its port but your newer USB type-C powered scanner or printer, etc. may require significantly more to be fully functional. In that case a simple USB type-C to USB type-A cable would not be enough.
