This is an embedded sim to nanosim adapter also known as ST CX HERCULES DFN8 to 4FF nano sim adapter. This is a flex pcb with a 4FF sim tray on one end and the ST CX HERCULES DFN8 footprint at the other end.
Includes: 3x ST CX HERCULES DFN8 to 4FF Test Adapters
When teams are testing or debugging their embedded sim designs to work with different sim providers it is really difficult to test the full solution until you have the completely assembled hardware which can be prohibitively expensive. Most providers have a 4FF version of their sim though.
Also, when you are performing PTCRB or FCC certification your certification lab will need to connect your cellular IoT device to a local call box, typically a R&S CMW500. Most cellular IoT device module vendors that provide an embedded sim don't provide a way to connect the call boxes provisioned sim for the device to talk to that call box. There are other test sims from companies like comprion but those are incredibly expensive and difficult to acquire.
There is currently no other adapter on the market to solve the certification and debugging challenge. You'll receive 3x adapters so if you make any mistakes you can try again.
