The Harmony-E1 Environment Controller is a peripheral board designed for the Raspberry Pi 2. This board adds an array of features to sense and control your environment. A typical application for this platform is to balance a sensitive ecosystem. The Harmony-E1 has the ability to sense and control based on temperature, humidity, pressure, CO2, and much more.
The Harmony-E1 board is a great educational platform to learn about sensors and control systems. Scripts are included to validate the hardware functionality.
Why was this designed?
The Harmony-E1 Environment Controller was originally designed to automate, log, and control plant growth in a cost effective manner. It has now been made available to the public for general purpose use.
There are two methods to power the Harmony-E1 Environment Controller. The first method is from the Raspberry Pi 2. The second method is from an external supply. It is recommended to use the external supply which increases your power budget significantly. The external supply should be rated at 5V with a minimum current of 2.0 Amps.
