These offer a new take on breakout boards for SMD devices by breaking the pins out to groups of 2 or 3 holes each, instead of the single hole provided on typical breakout boards. This, combined with the exposed and accessible ground trace around the perimeter, allows some supporting components to be included right on the breakout board without interfering with connections to other parts of your project.
These prototyping breakout boards are available in three versions, corresponding to 20-pin, 28-pin, and 32-pin quad flat packages. QFN and VQFN packages often have an exposed pad on the underside (typically connected to ground) - for these packages, an exposed pad is provided, tied to the mounting holes and exposed trace along the perimeter. While QFN and VQFN are never fun to solder by hand, these quality breakout boards will help you use parts in these packages effectively.
TQFP-32/QFN-32 - Two-pack of boards supporting either TQFP-32 or 0.65 mm pitch QFN-32
QFN-28/VQFN-32 - Two-pack of boards supporting either QFN-28 ( 0.65mm pitch) or VQFN-28 ( 0.45mm pitch). Shown in the picture is a board with an ATtiny88-MU (QFN package) mounted along with supporting components.
QFN-20/VQFN-20 - Three-pack of boards supporting either QFN-20 ( 0.65mm pitch) or VQFN-20 ( 0.5mm pitch - aka MLF-20). Board shown in picture has ATtiny1634-MU (MLF-20 package) mounted along with supporting components including external crystal.
Discounted version available: Due to a typographical error, the silkscreen on these boards incorrectly identifies them as QFN/VQFN-25. A new version of these boards with corrected silkscreen and better panelization is now available, so the old ones are available (while supplies last) at special 2-for-1 pricing!
