Flight Controller Rev 1 is the ideal fit for your next adventure. From hiking and dirt biking to model rocketry, this device records altitude, tilt, acceleration and temperature.
This device has been made with rocketeers in mind. At the moment, it is difficult to find an inexpensive and compact rocket flight computer to record flight data and deploy a parachute. However, its applications go beyond model rocketry. Since the software is open source one can adapt it to their particular needs.
Its versatility. Measuring altitude, acceleration, tilt and temperature has never been so easy. Just turn it on and you are ready to go!
Compact and lightweight, it is comparable in size to a 9V battery but lighter. It is handy for applications where space and weight are restricted.
This board has been designed to operate with a single-cell lipo or li-ion battery. You can recharge your battery through the USB port, for example using a power bank or a phone charger. The integrated battery protection will extend the life of your battery and protect the circuit board.
Since this board is Arduino compatible, it is possible to program it via ICSP with a 5V Arduino microcontroller and the Arduino IDE. Concerning device compatibility, it allows serial communication through the RX/TX pins. In addition, there is a programmable port allowing communication with both 3.3 and 5V compatible devices. For example, one could use the 3.3V port to trigger a Raspberry Pi and record video.
A right angle 5-pin header is included as well as two jumpers. The micro SD card, the battery and the servo motor are not included. The device comes fully assembled except for the pin headers that can be soldered if needed.
