It comes with two 5.1k Ohm resistors to negotiate 5 volt charging with any usbc charger (you don’t have to worry about your charger having too much power/voltage). This kit comes with a bezel to cover the gaps between the case and the USBC port as well as a resin jig for positioning the USBC port on the motherboard.
Mod Difficulty: 6/10, disassembling and reassembling the 2DSXL case is tricky
Special Considerations: • Reconnecting the rear camera is tricky • The volume button should be in the click/off position before disassembly
Disassembly/installation: 1. Put the volume slider in the lowest/off position you should feel and/or hear a click, this step is important because the click position retains the volume slider in place and prevents the slider on the motherboard from being snapped during disasssembly. 2. Look up a video on disassembling the 2DSXL and follow it until you’ve separated the case, you don’t need to remove the motherboard 3. Take the cutting jig from the kit and place it the smaller black rectangular section of the black molding near the game cartridge on the back case. 4. Use the open sections of the cutting jig and flush cutters to snip the plastic from the black molding. 5. Grab the pcb from the kit, try to put the pcb into the rectangular section you just snipped (it won’t fit) with the top of the pcb facing you make note of the sections blocking it from sitting inside the rectangular section and snip those too. 6. Solder the magnet wires to the center two pads on the pcb board (with the usbc flat on a table open side facing you and top side up the left center pad is positive and the right center pad is ground). 7. Put the pcb firmly in the rectangular section then take the bezel and place it firmly on top of it. (Refer to pictures) 8. Place the top of the case like an open clamshell next to the other half, route and tape down the wires to the top shell. 9. Take the end of the wires and solder them to corresponding positive and negative points on the motherboard (refer to pictures). Check your work with a multimeter in continuity mode. 10. Reassemble the 2DS XL, be very mindful of the volume slider you don’t want to snap it, you’re done.
