Voltage Sensitive Relay is basically a voltage monitor with control to a high current low voltage relay for charging and discharging of lead acid battery. It is used to disconnect the battery from the draining source when the battery voltage is dropped to low to protect the battery from being completely discharged. When it sense the battery had been charged enough, it will close the relay to allow the battery to give out current again.
Voltage Sensitive Relay is actually not a new invention and is very popular with automotive communities. However I see it have other use other than automotive and marine application, in which it can be used on custom solar projects, home automation and any application which involve lead acid batteries, and thus the need to control the charging and discharging logic.
Designed for 12V Electrical System. Two M6 Terminals connect to Starter Battery and Auxiliary Battery. Cut In Voltage is 13.3V and Cut-off Voltage is 12.8V. There are 5 seconds delay for both Cut In and Cut Off to provide a hysteresis. Rated for Max. 140A and ignition protected as it is designed for harsh automotive and marine environment.
