MAY 2018 UPDATE - PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING
I am now selling this as the bare board only. Making complete boards has been too time consuming and I'm really not making any money from doing this so haven't been motivated to keep them in stock lately.
Once this last batch of boards sells I will be retiring this product.
This board provides 12-bit sampling and playback of audio and comes with an example sketch for a digital ring modulator voice changer effect (think Daleks and Cybermen, and many other robotic voices). Other voice effects can be achieved with this board but require fairly advanced programming skills, so if you're looking for effects other than Dalek/Cyberman then this is probably not the board for you.
In addition to this kit, you will also need the following:
I wanted a board that offloaded the ADC/DAC work to external chips so that the Arduino was capable of more processing, allowing for real-time adjustments to the sound manipulation logic i.e. adding pots to control pitch and frequency. The board also has a connector for external LEDs, which is very useful when you need to trigger lights along with the sound effect. This is very useful for cosplay or Halloween costumes!
As far as I know this is the only board currently available targeted specifically at making voice changers with corresponding light effects.
You can 3D print a case to hold the Arduino and voice changer shield using designs available on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1615697/#made

I'm a professional software engineer by day but enjoy tinkering with Arduinos, Raspberry Pis, electronics and 3D printing in my spare time.
I've invented a couple handy boards so far, which I sell here to help cover some of the costs of my hobby.
