We are currently offering a quality set of resistors, via Tindie, for makers and hobbyists who want to construct their own decade resistance projects or resistance substitution boxes. One of the most difficult aspects when undertaking such a project is to source the full set of quality resistors in low quantity via a single order. As we have recently taken a summer intern on board, we have assigned this as one of several projects where he can gain additional income. Once supplies, taxes, postage & Tindie charges are covered, all proceeds will go to the Intern.
We have chosen quality resistors only from leading suppliers (Farnell/Newark/Element 14, Mouser, Digikey & RS). Did we mention it is difficult to source these in a single order.
The values chosen are the most common 7 decade set of 1R, 10R, 100R, 1K, 10K, 100K & 1M. This will allow you to create a project with resistance values from 1 Ohm to 9,999,999 Ohms in steps of 1 Ohm and an accuracy of 1% or better across the whole range. Each resistor is 1/2 Watt with a temperature coefficient of only 100ppm & fully RoHS compliant.
Why 9 vs 10 resistors per decade?
Most decade resistor projects use 9 resistors in each decade, because the 10th carries over to the next decade. However, there are some rare cases where 10 vlaues in each decade are required, which is why we have provided the upgrade option.
Typical uses include
What is Included
A full set of resistors to build a seven decade resistance box. 9 resistors for each of the 7 values - 63 resistors in total. (See below for options)
Select 2 or 5+ sets to avail of reduced pricing tiers.
The standard or default option includes 9 of each resistor value for a total of 63 resistors. We have also provided an option to get 10 of each value of resistor for a total of 70 resistors.
Delivery is via standard post worldwide and usually takes from 5->10 working days after shipping. Standard post is untracked and without insurance. As the Set value is relatively low, it usually is less than the threshold for any customs or import taxes, which if levied are the responsibility of the buyer.
