The LP-2458 is a custom designed, dual-band log periodic antenna for high sensitivity reception in the frequencies specific to WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth, Zigbee (802.15.4), or any other technology operating in either the range 2.3 - 2.6 GHz or 5.0 - 6.0 GHz, or both.
This is the principal concept behind design: "The single-band LPDA antenna is one of the most popular broadband antennas due to its simple, light-weight, construction and low-cost. The dual-band LPDA consists of two single-band LPDA antennas in a cascade arrangement facilitating dual-wide-band operation with a single feed. This configuration is specifically useful where the desired upper and lower operating bands are far apart, and the dual-band configuration results in a structure that it physically shorter than a single band LPDA that covers both required bands."
The LP-2458 antenna consists of two separate segments joined together: one segment covering the 2.3-2.6 GHz band, and the other one covering the 5.0 - 6.0 GHz band. This approach allows users to achieve the maximum possible gain for target frequencies within practical PCB size constraints.
The high-quality PCB construction features multiple mounting holes to make it easy to mount in the project case of your choice. Its targeted frequency range and high gain characteristics make your LP-2458 antenna perfectly suited for areas with marginal coverage.
With an average gain of 7.5dBi and frequency range of 2.3 - 2.6 GHz and 5.0 - 6.0 GHz, this is an ideal antenna for an RF environment with WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth, Zigbee (802.15.4) or any other technology operating in the target RF frequencies.
The directional characteristics of log periodic antennas makes this an excellent choice for use in novel applications, and is an ideal component to build Direction Finding Antenna Array. Applications include Signals and Communications Intelligence (SIGINT, COMINT, ELINT), Software Defined Radio (SDR), Spectrum Analysis, Direction Finding, Frequency Sweeps, EMI/RFI and other broadband applications. Designed and built in Canada.
We also offer an upgrade to slightly bigger 33-element antenna (60mm x 480mm) that is made using RF substrate material Rogers RO4003C and has even bigger gain of 10 dBi. Substrate of this upgraded version is 1.6mm so antenna is more rigid.
Optional plastic handle can be used with x2 RP-SMA Male Vertical antennas and high quality Alfa Network USB dongles to form a direction finding kit with unmatched characteristics and performance (example assembly is shown).
