#### What is it? This is a MML-capable music synthesizer expansion board for Arduino and Raspberry Pi (all versions) using a SN76489AP, the same complex sound generator chip used in old BBC Micro and Sega Genesis consoles. You can use this to play MML chiptunes from your classic game collection, or develop new games and use this card.
The driver software at this moment supports only Arduino, however, Microbit and Raspberry Pi support are WIP. Since it uses I2C its potentially possible to hook up to most, if not all hobby SBCs.
Why did you make it? I grew up with chiptunes and used this project to teach myself KiCAD design, manufacture and Arduino programming.
What makes it special? The kit comes pre-assembled and tested. Connection by I2C makes hookup easy and direct sound output via the headphone jack with volume control. Therefore giving Arduinos and BBC Microbit music capabilities easily.
How does it work Connect via I2C, then use the included library to play freely available MML-based chiptunes. You need Arduini IDE skills to use it.
Support - The board uses open source libraries easily obtainable from Github.
The board supports; - Arduino (most models) - BBC Microbit - AdaFruit FeatherU32Lora - and many more.
Future - Visual programming using Blockly is in the making.
