In 2014 I ran numerous learn to SMD solder classes a our local Hackspace. I designed this kit to be cheap, simple and fairly forgiving. All the parts are 0805 parts - large enough to hand solder fairly easily or easy to place with tweezers for a toaster oven lesson.
As per the instructions all the parts are colour coded and placed as per the attached photo (also visible at here). The contrast has been set to maximise the visibility. Note that the pcb you receive may be a different colour.
Note that is is an unassembled kit. In addition to the supplied parts a CR2032 battery is required, these are too hard to ship.
Tools you will/might need (hand assembly)
I plan to make a hand soldering video for this project soon, until then this video shows the same technique for an earlier project. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_6XJR3D27Y
