--What is it? This ESP8266 builds on a lot of other smart peoples' work to enable a platform where soldering and programming is not needed to make an IOT temp/humidity sensor. It will log to a Thingspeak channel as shown in example: https://thingspeak.com/channels/104914 This allows for monitoring remotely, or triggering an event such as a tweet on critical issues such as temperature/humidity/low power. Also allowing post-analysis over sample range.
--Why did you make it? I made this for my beehive which can have moisture issues in the Pacific NW. Other beehive owners may want to use it for a low-cost monitoring as long as they are close to a wifi access point. (It is not limited to a beehive use, but general sensing as well.)
--What makes it special? What makes it rather special is that this is intended as not needing soldering or programming to get going and maintains a low cost. On the other hand, no guarantee or warranty is made on data accuracy or reliability.
Batteries excluded and replacement frequency will depend on battery quality and logging update frequency.
