Our first product, the RTK RPi M.C.B is a simple to use, budget, motor controller board for the Raspberry Pi, and allows you to control motors using the GPIO Pins with very little coding and is great for robotics.

The RTK RPi M.C.B is a self-assembly kit to be able to allow you to control DC motors with ease. Once the board is soldered up it is as simple as plugging the board on top of a Raspberry Pi and then programming some python, scratch or any method of controlling the GPIO pins using the Raspberry Pi. All that is required is a power source for the motors and at least one motor to get started. The board allows you to then drive the motor in both directions just by turning a GPIO Pin on or Off. It also supports Pulse Width Modulation allowing you to control the speed of the motors individually.
As mentioned above programming the board to be able to drive a motor is as simple as turning a pin off or on. We provide example code for Python here. You can also use any other programming language to use the kit. We also have scratch support under the addon name “rtkmotorcon” or you can just turn the pins high and low.
Motor 1: 17 & 18, Motor 2: 22 & 23.
Board Pin Numbers:
Motor 1: 11 & 12, Motor 2: 15 & 16.
You can now get the kits pre soldered for $5 extra, they are soldered by hand and then tested with 1 DC Motor and a Raspberry Pi. Both channels are tested for forwards and backwards, the chips will be already in the IC Socket. They are soldered using Lead Free Solder. We do not remove the flux so no extra chemicals are used. They are also soldered in the UK.
Example code to make motor 1 move forwards and backwards can be found at https://github.com/ryanteck/RTK-000-001/blob/master/motor.py
