Do you need a small, compact but still very powerful USB single-cell 3.7V Li-Ion or Li-Po battery charger? Are you annoyed that you always need an extra USB cable? If that’s the case the LIPOnano is what you need! Just plug it into your PC, Notebook or any other 500mA capable USB charger.
It is designed to be not bigger than a wireless USB mouse dongle while still being able to charge at a rate of up to 500mA per hour. With a small solder jumper you can select between 500mA (jumper closed) and 100mA (jumper open) charging current.
Actually who says that you need to connect it to a USB plug? Just solder two cables to the USB pads and you get a whole new field of new possibilities to integrate the LIPOnano into your project! Or do you not need the JST connector? Just order it without to get a super slim and compact charging solution!
The LIPOnano also has a reverse current flow protection with just 2 µA reverse current flow. This means it takes 500000 hours until it drained a 1000mAH Battery. Practically this means you can leave it attached to the battery without draining it.
The LIPOnano is made in Europe and fully hand assembled in Germany! I made sure that all parts are high quality. The PCB is Gold plated and assembled with Agilent LEDs, Microchip MCP73831T charger and a sturdy 2mm JST connector.
Please make sure that you have a 3.7V Li-Ion or Li-Po battery with an end charge of 4.2V. It might damage your battery if you use another one! Also, due to its size, it has no reverse polarity protection. That means be careful to not accidently swap the input polarity or output polarity!
Small idea: I did solder some little cables to the LIPOnano and to the cables two neodymium magnet cubes. I now can simply stick the magnets to my lithium cells(which I got out of some laptop batteries) and can easily charge them! There is a picture right at the end of the product photos.
