I wanted a handy and thin tachometer plus I always try to make something new and try new things.
Because it is made by me! No, joke aside having too many new ideas can be a burden sometimes when you are not able to keep up. Of course you can use this to measure the rpm of any rotating shaft by just placing a reflective or non reflective material depending on the material. In this case I just put a piece of black tape underneath the shiny platter so the IR sensor can pick up a signal.
This particular code is setup for the HDD motor depending on your needs the code will be different. Please get in touch with me if you have any questions or something is unclear to you. Thank you.
The size of the tachometer is 28 mm x 52 mm with only being 3 mm thick.
