Maker badge is a simple project for beginners, a perfect introduction to soldering and electronics. It is also a perfect decoration for your workshop or just a cool way to show everyone around that you are a maker. This is a kit so you can find in it all the parts you need to make it (except USB socket, this one is quite hard to solder for beginners). What's in the kit: - PCB - 100X red LED - 6X 10 Ohm resistor - Switch - Breakaway header
If you are a maker you must like making to stuff. We all do! Isn't it awesome when someone asks you what are you doing and you are like "I am just making cool things with my hands"? When you are going to a contest, school or maker fair (I wish to be there one day) you want to show everyone around that you are a maker. Because of that, I thought that some kind of LED sign would be cool. Maybe I should 3D print one and put some LEDs inside it? No, that's not cool enough. How about a big PCB with a lot of LEDs that are arranged in some text let's say "I MAKE STUFF"? That sounds perfect! So that's why I made it. Maker badge that's how I called it is a very simple project for beginners, so if you want to start with soldering or electronics you can by making this project. There are a lot of things to solder (almost 100 LEDs) but all of the components (except one that is optional) are THT (through-hole technology) so those are easy to solder.
100 LEDs! But also size and uniqueness :) I tried to find something like this on the internet but there is none. And badges are a cool way for beginners to start with electronics and soldering. You can not only learn a lot while making this project but you can also make something cool! You can find more info about this project in my YouTube video or on Instructables. Happy making!

We recognize our top users by making them a Tindarian. Tindarians have access to secret & unreleased features.
We look for the most active & best members of the Tindie community, and invite them to join. There isn't a selection process or form to fill out. The only way to become a Tindarian is by being a nice & active member of the Tindie community!
My name is Nikodem Bartnik. I am maker so I like making things, making everything, but mainly electronics, robots, programs (applications, games and robots soft) for some time I also play with 3D printing. Everything that I made is public on the internet, on my youtube channel and on instructables. I recently set up Facebook fanpage so if you want to be up to date with what I am doing, or just support my work, go there and push that like button. If you are searching for more pro info about me check out my LinkedIn profile.
Project that I am most proud of is drone made from scratch by me, literally everything in this project is made by me. It was a huge challenge for me, but I like challenges, I am addicted to them :) Ludwik (that’s the name of my drone) won 3 prizes in international contests, 2 in Poland and a lot of people like this project a lot, huge thanks to them!
FollowBot it’s a robot that follows red objects i.e. ball. It do it by android app that I write (yes, I also program in java, sorry) it recognize red objects and drive to robot to be in same distance from the object. Sounds simple? Nothing more wrong! As with the drone, huge huge challenge for me, but I didn’t give up, only weak people are giving up!
All of my construction together won 10 contests 7 from that was international. They were published on famous sites like Make Magazine, Adafruit, Atmel Makers, Arduino.cc. On instructables I have 872 000 views and on my youtube channel 338 000 views.
I am really creative person (sometimes even too much), hard working (sometimes even too much) and obstinate (It's probably even good). I definitely have more ideas than time to realize them all, even though I work almost all the time. My todo list already has 4 pages.
