An easy to use Arduino IDE compatible timer. It features a 5 digit LED readout, input line, logic header, and relay that can control DC or AC loads up to 4A @125V AC. It is set using buttons and a jumper to select run or program. Assembly time should take about an hour. It supports multiple duration types and they can be mixed. For example a 7 day cycle time with a 1 hour run time. Time durations supported are deciseconds (1/10th), seconds, minutes, hours, and days. Max value on everything but days is 9999. Days should be limited to around 490. It uses a USB B jack for power. Also features a 6 pin ISP header for easy hacking. Well documented code that uses interrupts for the core timer functionality and buttons.
Features: - Atmega328 CPU - Max7219CNG LED driver - 5 digit LED readout - 2 button programming - Reset Button - Relay rated for 10A @250V, PCB limited to 4A @ 125v for long service life. - Switching transistor and relay both have protective components to ensure wide application and long life. - Input header - Logic output for driving an SSR or other functions.
I wanted to make a version of TinyTimer (now Tiny PLC) that was easy to use for non-hackers. I also wanted to cover all the basis in terms of durations.
Other products in this niche are either extremely expensive or very limited. This is an open hardware and open source project that is geared towards the average person.
