What is it?
Ever wanted to make your own 3D printer filament , but got discouraged by the fact that there is no 3D board controller available ? Well a lot of home users use a ramps/arduino solution which is limited to the ports available, well I looked into these short comings and did design one with lots of Features ..
Why did you make it?
The board features various features which make it universal. The software is very easy to use and is open to be future upgrades. The Controller is based around an arduino nano with built in usb port and supply is regulated .
What makes it special?
The board is packed with features as follows:
3 x Mosfet ports of Drive motor , Heater , Fan
2 speed control function
1 PID Heater control
1 x PID Control for stepper motor
1 x Stepper motor port - A4988 - DRV8825 drivers
1 x lcd 20 x 4 i2c lcd
1 x filament width sensor analogue input 1.5v to 3v
1 x keypad - stop- start - emergency - 3 independent switches
1 x EC11 encoder Rotary with switch
1 x 5V buzzer
2 x servo ports
led status of power and mosfet channels
1 x Temperature sensor NTC 100K 3950
1 X I2C bus port
Board is fully customized and can work as a full controller or winder. This is configured by the onboard jumper named Mode. Source code provided in my page
What is Included:
Assembled Version : PCB with mounted components according to mode selected.
Mode 1 : Controller to accept a Filament width sensor and a stepper speed driver - used to pull the filament out of the extruder and measure its width. the stepper speed is thus adjust to have a constant extrusion.
Mode 2 : Controller with all the features - using motor to drive twist drill- heater with pid - servo to align filament - filament width sensor to control extrusion of filament by using a geared stepper motor - plus LCD display output I2C and * a keypad 3 button - an EC11 encoder to select options in menu - Setup menu with options to control controller.
Kit Version :
PCB with all the component parts according to the mode selected .
Motors - heat sensor - filament width sensor - lcd display - heater - stepper motor
Power Supply Unit with voltages : 5V, 12V - current depending on motor used ! (Recommended 5Amp) Works with 12v only too !
