Printrlight is a light and 60mm extruder fan holder for Printerbot Simple Maker's Kit 1405 3D printer. It mounts under the extruder using the three existing screws and will illuminate the object being printed. It has a platform to mount 60mm fan (not included) using zip ties to cool the extruder so your filament won't bend and jam the extruder due to excessive heat coming from the extruder motor. On the bottom side are 6 bright cree LEDs, on top is a switch to turn the fan on/off, a switch to turn the light high/low/off and connectors for the fan and 12V input. It comes with female connector kit, so you can make your own power cable. There are many ways to power it. I power mine from the printrboard itself. I take 12V from the heated bed connector and GND from the E-switch connector. You can also use Y-cable to split 12V from the adapter or use a separate power supply. Pictures are from my Simple 2014 version for illustration purposes only. You will get green or red board.
Aluminum extruder overheating is a well known issue of printerbot 3D printers, I couldn't print anything, so I made this to hold a fan, light is a nice bonus. Also with this extra cooling you can increase extruder motor current to boost power and prevent extruder clicking when extruding long lines.
It will make your printer you spent $400 on actually usable.
