This is only the populated PCB with my PICAXE program loaded. You can always upload another program via the programming header.
To make the solder past tool you will need some additional parts;
The 3D parts design can be downloaded here 3D Parts at thingiverse
The stepper motor are available at eBay like this one
A stepper motor coupling like this Stepper motor
Some 2mm piano wire
A M5 nut an a piece of M5 threaded rod.
Some self taping screws and washers.
The controller itself uses a PICAXE M14 microcontroller and ULN2003 Darlington driver to run the 28BYJ-48 stepper motor. It has an onboard 5V voltage regulator and reverse voltage protection. There is a trim pot that is read by the microcontroller changing the plunger speed. There is also a speed control in that if you press the forward button first and then press the other one the speed increases. This works forward and backwards.
21.06.2015 I’m not making any more of these boards, but if anyone else wants to sell them please get in touch.
