The USB-C ondom connects VBus and GND, and provides solder jumpers to optionally connect USB-C's config channel. Without the CC jumpers bridged, any cable will act as a 5V, 900mA, power-only cable (standard USB-C power). With the CC jumpers bridged, any cable will act as a non-emarked USB-PD cable, providing up to 20V and 3A, depending on the charger. The USB-C sideband pins are also broken out to a solder jumpers, just in case you find something cool to do with those.
USB condoms exist, they're a standard part of many a hacker's kit, but a USB-C version did not. As an evangelist of the ONE TRUE CONNECTOR, I took upon myself the herculean task of designing one. Or maybe I just wanted a joke badge for Def Con, the world may never know.
The cables I have are solid quality, but only populate 2 of the 4 high speed lanes, and do not populate the sideband. This means that these cables DO NOT support thunderbolt or DisplayPort, but DO support all forms of USB.
