We have sets of extender/riser boards or cards for older HP (Agilent) test gear. Designed originally for the 5345A frequency counter, the boards will also fit many other HP systems from the same era, without modification. Specifically, 20P (2x10) and 44P (2x22) connectors are available by default. With care, smaller configurations can be achieved by removing (cutting) part of the lower connector to fit and aligning the target card to the remaining edge of the socket.
For use with the 5345A, 2x10P and/or 2x22P cards are required. In the 5345A there are typically 6 or 7 cards with 2x22P connectors and 3 cards with 2x10P connectors. The 2 power supply cards have 10P connectors. If you know which board is faulty, then you only need to purchase 2 for that card. The cards are raised by just over 100mm (~4 inches). If you prefer additional height clearance, then order double the quantity above for double the height etc. The board thickness is 1.6mm, which fits snuggly into the existing sockets. Because of the use of solder-mask on both faces of the boards, there is little chance of accidental 'shorts' unlike the original HP riser boards.
The boards come with 10P or 22P card connectors pre-soldered. The width of the green 10P card is 43.1mm, the green 22P card is 90.6mm. The blue card edge connector is slightly larger, as per photos.(10P:47mm, 22P:94.5-108mm approx.), The critical dimension is the card width, as these standard 3.96mm pitch connectors are designed to fit these widths.

A common story: bought an old 5345A online as 100% working, but it had a fault on delivery. The only way to repair & troubleshoot test equipment from this era is by using extender cards like this. Unfortunately, these cards are very hard to find at any price.
It is possible, to make these cards yourself using acid etching of copper PCB boards, cut to the correct dimensions. However, I prefer to avoid etching and toxic fumes if possible, which comes with the benefit of higher quality results using our boards.
These high quality extenders cards are very rare, and difficult to find individually or as a complete set for the 5345A and similar test gear.
As a bonus, you should be able to resell these boards online after you are finished using them.
