This board was designed as a way to quickly program my Arduino Compatible ATMEGA328P breakout board
This project was inspired by Nick Gammon's project. In fact, 99% of the hard work came from the example code posted there, so check all of that out first.
This custom PCB with the code I provide allows you to do the following:
Burn AVR fuses
Load Arduino Bootloader with User Code (your own sketch)
Read/Write to EEPROM on the target AVR - think about this and what you can do. Write serial numbers, Mac address, unique ID, date code, modes of operation, etc...
Board can power the target at 3.3V, or target can be self powered
Protection on all IO lines to target, so if your target boards came from a sketchy manufacturer, the AVR programmer should survive any shorts or defects on the target side.
Programmed and powered from a standard 5V FTDI header - works nicely with my board
